Information

Terms & Conditions

Terms covering the purchase of restored vintage audio equipment and restoration work on customer-owned equipment.

Retraphonics is a Gold Coast, Queensland vintage audio specialist that restores customer-owned vintage audio equipment and sells restored vintage radiograms and other vintage audio equipment to customers locally and Australia-wide.

These Terms & Conditions cover both purchases of restored equipment from Retraphonics and restoration or service work carried out on customer-owned equipment.

Purchases

Purchases & Vintage Equipment

Retraphonics sells genuine vintage and restored audio equipment. Because of the age of these pieces, variations, marks, previous wear, repairs and signs of age may be present.

Photographs and descriptions are intended to accurately represent each piece, but vintage equipment should not be expected to present as factory-new unless specifically stated.

Each piece is individually restored and/or assessed according to its condition.

Deposits

Deposits

Deposits may be required to secure a radiogram, commissioned restoration, pre-order or sourcing request.

Once Retraphonics has commenced work, committed resources, purchased parts, secured a piece on the customer's behalf or commenced sourcing specifically for that customer, the deposit is non-refundable for change of mind.

This does not limit any refund or other rights the customer may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Restoration Work

Restoration Quotes & Additional Work

Restoration quotes and scopes are based on the condition of the equipment that can reasonably be determined at the time of assessment.

Vintage equipment can reveal additional faults once dismantled, tested or restoration work has commenced.

If additional work outside the agreed restoration scope is discovered, Retraphonics will contact the customer and obtain approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.

Payment

Payment

For interstate purchases and deliveries, full payment must be received before the equipment is dispatched from Retraphonics.

For local Gold Coast collection or delivery, payment may be made on collection or delivery where agreed with Retraphonics.

For restoration work, payment terms will be as stated on the customer's quote or invoice.

Equipment remains the property of Retraphonics until payment for a Retraphonics-owned item has been received in full.

Collection

Completed Restorations & Collection

Once a customer has been notified that their restoration is complete and ready for collection or return delivery, the equipment must be collected or delivery arrangements made within 14 days unless another arrangement has been agreed with Retraphonics.

If equipment remains at the Retraphonics workshop beyond 14 days without an agreed arrangement, reasonable storage charges may apply.

The customer must be informed of the applicable storage charge before storage fees begin accruing.

Returns

Change of Mind

Retraphonics does not offer refunds or returns solely because a customer changes their mind after purchasing a vintage item or after agreed restoration work has been carried out.

This does not affect any rights or remedies available to the customer under Australian Consumer Law.

Freight

Freight & Delivery

Retraphonics arranges Australia-wide freight for many radiograms and vintage audio pieces.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by freight carriers, location and circumstances outside Retraphonics' reasonable control.

Customers should inspect their equipment as soon as reasonably practical after delivery.

If a customer believes damage has occurred during transit, they should contact Retraphonics promptly and provide photographs of the equipment and packaging so the circumstances can be assessed and, where appropriate, raised with the freight provider.

Where the customer independently arranges their own carrier or transport, responsibility for damage caused by that independently arranged transport may rest with the customer or their carrier, subject to Australian Consumer Law and other applicable law.

Customer Care

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about customer-owned equipment, including known faults, previous modifications or relevant damage where known.

Customers must operate restored vintage equipment in accordance with any instructions provided by Retraphonics and take reasonable care of the equipment.

Customer misuse, incorrect operation, unauthorised modification or damage caused after the equipment has left Retraphonics is not covered by the Retraphonics voluntary restoration warranty, subject to Australian Consumer Law.

Further warranty details are set out in the Warranty & After-Sales Policy.

Third-Party Repairs

Third-Party Repairs

If a problem arises with equipment restored by Retraphonics, customers should contact Retraphonics before arranging for another repairer to open, modify, service or repair the equipment.

Damage or additional faults caused by unauthorised third-party work are not covered by the Retraphonics voluntary warranty.

Cancellations

Cancellations

If a customer cancels restoration work after work has commenced, Retraphonics may charge for work already performed, parts already purchased or ordered, and reasonable costs already incurred for that customer's job.

Any remaining amount should be handled in accordance with the customer's rights under Australian Consumer Law and the circumstances of the cancellation.

Your Rights

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

General

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Queensland, Australia, subject to any laws that apply regardless of this provision.
