Sanyo Honeycomb Quadraphonic System

This Sanyo Honeycomb Quadraphonic System is a seriously impressive piece of 1970s audio design and has now been fully restored by Retraphonics.

Unlike a conventional two-speaker stereo system, this is a complete four-channel quadraphonic setup with four matching Sanyo Honeycomb speakers, two larger floor speakers and two smaller speakers, paired with the original centre console, amplifier and turntable.

The amplifier has been carefully worked through as part of our restoration process, with ageing components addressed where required, controls and switches cleaned and serviced, connections checked and the four channels tested to ensure the system is operating correctly.

The original turntable has also received a complete mechanical service. This includes cleaning and servicing the mechanism, lubrication of the motor and moving components, checking the drive system, speed, tracking and automatic functions, and ensuring it is operating correctly for regular record playback.

All four original Sanyo Honeycomb speaker cabinets have been retained. The distinctive Honeycomb grille design is one of the defining features of this system and, together with the matching cabinetry, makes the complete five-piece setup incredibly striking.

The timber cabinetry across the centre console and four speakers has been carefully restored, cleaned and refinished while retaining the character and original design of the system. The centre cabinet also incorporates dedicated record storage beneath the amplifier.

This is being sold as the complete matching system pictured: centre console with original turntable and amplifier, two larger Honeycomb speakers and two smaller Honeycomb speakers.

Fully restored by Retraphonics and ready to use.

Smartphone connectivity can also be added with our optional Phone Adaptor Kit, allowing music from a modern device to be played through the original Sanyo amplifier and speakers.
