Kriesler Stereo 6 - 1969

from A$3,300.00

The Kriesler Stereo 6 is widely regarded as one of the finest sounding Australian radiograms ever produced. Handcrafted in Australia in 1969, these sought-after models combined exceptional Australian craftsmanship, a beautifully engineered valve amplifier and timeless mid century styling into one remarkable piece of furniture.

This particular example features the iconic timber slat front speaker grilles, brushed aluminium trim and beautifully restored timber cabinetry that made the Stereo 6 range one of Kriesler's most recognisable designs. Its clean proportions and quality materials allow it to complement both modern and mid century interiors with ease.

Hidden beneath the lid is the original fully automatic BSR stacking turntable, allowing multiple records to be played continuously without interruption. Even more desirable, this radiogram retains the rare custom Kriesler edition BSR record changer, manufactured exclusively for Kriesler during this era and seldom seen today.

Every component has been meticulously restored by us here at Retraphonics. The original valve amplifier has been completely rebuilt with all electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced, out-of-spec components renewed where required, controls professionally cleaned, valves tested, and the tuner serviced and aligned to ensure reliable performance for many years to come.

The original BSR turntable has been fully dismantled, cleaned, lubricated and mechanically adjusted before being fitted with a brand new high quality cartridge and stylus, ensuring smooth operation while preserving the authentic character of the unit.

The cabinetry has undergone a comprehensive restoration, including a deep clean, nourishment and refinishing to enhance the richness of the original timber while preserving its beautiful factory appearance. The amplifier fascia has also been colour matched and refinished to complement the cabinet perfectly.

The original AM radio operates beautifully, and for those wishing to enjoy modern music, an optional smartphone adaptor cord is available at an additional cost. This allows Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and other streaming services to be played through the original valve amplifier without compromising the originality of the radiogram.

The Stereo 6 has earned its reputation for a reason. The warm, rich valve sound, combined with its exceptional cabinet design and build quality, has made it one of Australia's most collectible radiograms. Whether you're rediscovering your vinyl collection or searching for a genuine statement piece, this is a radiogram that delivers both visually and sonically.

As with every Retraphonics restoration, this radiogram has been restored with longevity, originality and reliability in mind, ensuring it can be enjoyed for decades to come.
