HMV Caprice -Rosewood
This 1963 HMV Caprice radiogram has been fully restored in-house at our Gold Coast workshop and is now ready for its next chapter. With compact proportions and a rich rosewood finish, it’s a standout piece of mid-century Australian design and craftsmanship.
The valve amplifier delivers warm, rich audio, powered by dual 6GW8 output valves. All valves have been cleaned, tested, and reconditioned for reliable performance and classic tube sound.
The restoration included the full replacement of all electrolytic and coupling capacitors with high-quality modern components. Valve sockets were retained and thoroughly cleaned. Switches and potentiometers were ultrasonically cleaned, and a new power cord has been fitted for safety. The original speaker cloth remains in excellent condition.
The BSR stacking turntable has been completely rebuilt—disassembled, cleaned, re-oiled, and reassembled—then fitted with a brand new ceramic cartridge and stylus. It can stack and play up to 10 records in sequence, a clever feature of 1960s hi-fi design.
This unit is backed by a 3-month warranty and has been fully bench-tested for safe, everyday use.
Viewings are available by appointment at our Gold Coast showroom.
