HG Palmer Radiogram

from A$3,350.00

Here we go,

For sale now is a beautiful example of a fully restored Australian made Mid Century Radiogram from the 1960’s

This one is a Rare one indeed, we were absolutely THRILLED to land this one in our workshop. HG PALMER’S are not easy to find!

This little groover is very appealing to the eye with the long MCM legs and gold speaker cloth, not to mention the font of the badges is so cool!

We have fully restored the entire unit electrically, mechanically and cabinetry. No screw was left unturned.

It has been kept completely original with all original components such as speakers valves amplifiers and turntable fully rebuilt and working 100% perfectly.

The cabinet is very 1960’s as it was made from high quality plywood and golden teak veneer, the exterior has been sanded and re coated with high quality poly finishings.

The Record player is a really nice looking BSR UA14 which is my favourite BSR stacker as it looks very retro and works like a charm. It can stack records and play them one after the other. This model can stack around 4-5 records at a time. We have upgraded the cartridge and needle to a high quality (Stereo) model which has improved the sound.

An adapter cable has been installed to this unit to enable iPhone or Samsung playback through this radiogram so you can play your favourite Spotify through the vintage system (additional costs for the smartphone adapter depending on your devise)

The Amplifer is Valve and produces an amazing warm vintage sound, uhh bliss. We replaced all appropriate parts to render the unit safe to operate.

It has two small Rola Full Range loudspeakers which pack an absolute punch for the teeny tiny size of them 4”

Ill keep it short and sweet but I like to add any own opinion as to why I love this unit and why I deemed it necessary to take on such a large restoration. This little gem has a deep link to Australia’s manufacturing industry in the middle of the 19th century. HG Palmer was a prominent Australian retailer known for its higher purchase model and its eventual spectacular collapse in the 1960’s.

Reach out to make an appointment to view this item locally, additionally we ship Australia wide.
