Come with us back to 1968 in Sydney Australia, where this masterpiece was hand crafted by General Electric Kirby and our very own hard working men and women of this land.
The largest by a mile, this model the Scandia Discassette, is the biggest radiogram that was produced in Australia ever. Measuring at a whopping 1.8m in length.
Smooth smooth Scandinavian legs 👌
With its beautiful genuine real wood veneer cabinetry and solid timber furnishings this radiogram is a testament to the raw majestic craftsmanship this country was responsible for in the height of its radio production. “Mid century”
It has been sanded back and nourished with high quality wood treatment to enhance its natural teak wood grain.
The electronics have been completely restored from the ground up. Including a full overhaul to the original English made Garrard 3000 fully automatic stacking turntable. The turntable is now working as new.
The amplifier has undergone a complete restoration including replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, light bulbs and a deep sonic cleaning treatment to all switches and potentiometers. Now working in A1 condition.
Not only is this unit in absolute pristine condition, it sounds incredible with the addition of its original Magnavox full range 12” loud speaker pair. The vintage sound from this unit CANNOT be copied it is a tone to be reckoned with.
