GE Ranger Lowboy - Cherry
At Retraphonics, we admire the craftsmanship and bold styling of this vintage GE unit — and have worked carefully to preserve its originality while enhancing its performance where it matters most.
The original amplifier receiver has been fully rebuilt with all electrolytic capacitors replaced, and essential light bulbs restored. Although the radio is unfortunately no longer functional, the amplifier delivers clear, full-bodied sound and a significant increase in volume and bass response. It powers the original 12” Rola full-range loudspeakers, which have been carefully preserved for their vintage tone and presence.
The Garrard turntable has undergone a full mechanical overhaul — completely disassembled, stripped of old grease and grime, and then re-lubricated. A new cartridge and needle have been fitted. The motor has been cleaned, oiled, and the idler wheel resurfaced for smooth operation. This is a fully automatic unit, capable of stacking up to 10 records to play sequentially — or switch to manual mode if you prefer a more hands-on experience.
The exterior has been gently restored and polished to enhance its stunning cherry red timber finish — a real standout with its rich tone and warm grain.
