GE 'Greville' Radiogram
Some radiograms are nice. Others stop you in your tracks…
This 1964 General Electric "Greville" is one of those pieces.
Beautifully proportioned and unmistakably mid-century, the Greville was one of General Electric's premium Australian-built radiograms, combining quality craftsmanship with the warm, unmistakable sound that only a genuine valve amplifier can produce. Over 60 years later, it's easy to see why these are becoming increasingly difficult to find in original, restored condition.
This particular Greville has been completely restored by us, the team at Retraphonics. Internally, the amplifier and turntable have been rebuilt to ensure years of reliable enjoyment, while externally the cabinet has undergone a deep timber nourishment followed by a fresh lacquer finish, bringing the grain back to life while preserving its original character.
The original speaker cloth has also been professionally replaced with new period-correct fabric, and a quality new cartridge and stylus have been fitted to ensure your records sound every bit as good as they should.
The fully automatic Garrard stacking turntable allows you to load multiple records and simply enjoy hours of uninterrupted listening as each record drops and plays automatically. Combined with the rich valve amplifier and original speakers, the result is the warm, full-bodied sound that has made vintage radiograms so highly sought after.
For those wanting the best of both worlds, we can also supply an optional iPhone compatible adaptor, allowing you to stream Spotify, Apple Music or your favourite playlists through the original amplifier and speakers.
The General Electric Greville isn't just another radiogram. It's a genuine piece of Australian history that has been carefully brought back to life and is ready to be enjoyed for decades to come. Whether it's the centrepiece of your home or the soundtrack to your weekends, this is the kind of piece people remember.
Same week Australia wide shipping available.
