GE Envoy

from A$3,500.00

Handcrafted in Australia during the early 1970s, the General Electric Envoy is one of those radiograms that quietly stands out. Beautiful silky oak cabinetry, practical record storage beneath, and a classic Australian design that feels just as at home in a modern house today as it did over fifty years ago.

Open the lid and you'll find the original BSR automatic stacking turntable, allowing you to queue up your favourite records and enjoy hours of uninterrupted listening. The original AM radio has been retained, while discreet iPhone capability means you can also enjoy Spotify, Apple Music or your favourite playlists through the original amplifier and speakers.

Photographed entirely in natural light after restoration, what you see is exactly how this Envoy presents in person. No filters, no editing, just the warmth and character of genuine silky oak that has been carefully revived by us here at Retraphonics.

Every restoration begins with preserving what made these Australian radiograms so special in the first place. The amplifier has been completely rebuilt using quality components, the turntable has undergone a full mechanical restoration, a new cartridge and stylus have been supplied and fitted, and every function has been thoroughly tested and adjusted before the cabinet leaves our workshop.

One of our favourite features of the Envoy is the generous storage compartment beneath the turntable. Perfect for keeping your favourite records neatly tucked away, it makes this piece as practical today as it was when it first left the General Electric factory.

There is something incredibly satisfying about owning a genuine Australian radiogram that has been given a new lease on life rather than replaced. Built from real timber, restored with care, and ready to be enjoyed every day, this is a piece that will continue to tell its story for decades to come.
